Social Media Policy
Social media is a great way to promote our team and our sponsors, but we must also be vigilant that as sponsored athletes we have chosen to represent not just ourselves but our the companies that support us, our teammates, the Livingston Cycling Club and Once Again Racing.
Sam Patch Promotions and Once Again Racing require that our athletes take the following into consideration when using social media in conjunction with team activities and sponsors.
Violations of these policies could result in suspension and/or dismissal from the team.
1.Once Again Racing is primarily concerned with posts related to team training, racing, or other activities in which athletes are presenting themselves as members of the Once Again Team. We fully support and respect athletes' rights to post freely on their accounts, but we reserve the right to disassociate ourselves with individuals whose posts may depict the team or its sponsors negatively, especially when promoting team activities.
2.In order to promote the team we ask that athletes include @onceagainracing and #onceagainnutbutter #cyclepathgeneseo in all posts related to team activities. They may also hashtag our supporting sponsors, but at minimum we ask that three above are included.
3.Posts related to team activities should NOT contain profane or offensive language or images. They also should NOT criticize or belittle events, race directors, racers, teams, sponsors, volunteers or organizations related to racing or training.
4.Posts related to team activities should not contain social or political commentary or attempt to use Once Again Racing to promote personal opinions or beliefs on social and political issues. We respect our athletes' rights to make these commentaries on their accounts. Please reciprocate that respect by keeping them separate from the team.
5.Posts related to the team and/or racing and training events should NOT promote any businesses or organizations outside of the Once Again Racing sponsors, including but not limited to bike shops, cycling or nutrition products, public clubs/organizations, and private business. Riders have a right to promote interests outside of the team on their accounts, but please keep those promotions separate from team posts. Also note that directly promoting companies who compete with sponsors, even outside of team-related posts, may also be subject to this policy and will be reviewed with on a case-by-case basis.
6. Riders should not have any other cycling sponsorship agreements in place with any entities other than Sam Patch Promotions. Sponsors related to non-team activities (i.e. skiing) not included. However those sponsors should not be promoted through Once Again Racing.
7. Team e-mail lists should only be used to communicate with teammates about training and racing. Racers should not distribute emails addresses to outside sources or use team emails to promote non-team sponsors or events.
8. Once Again Racers should not contact team sponsors seeking private sponsorship or seeking sponsorship/donations for non-team related programs or services.
