The Rock Gran Fondo, sponsored by American Rock Salt, offers riders of all abilities the chance to tour the scenic roads and take on epic challenges. The event is non-competitive but has timed results, rest stops, killer swag, timed Strava segments on some routes, and a post-ride party at one of the Finger Lake's premier wineries, Deer Run.

Starting and ending Deer Run Winery on Conesus Lake, The Rock Gran Fondo is the first day of the American Rock Salt Race Weekend. With a new location, we are offering new courses highlighting some of the most challenging and exciting riding we anywhere in New York State.
Entry for any of the five rides provides riders with custom event socks , a bottle of Deer Run's Ciclismo wine with limited edition event label, timed results, on course mechanical support from Cyclepath bike shop, stocked rest stops, and a post-ride meal ticket with a cash bar and live band at the Finger Lake's best winery.
Although we provide timed results, all fondos are non-competitive events expect for our Strava competition where riders must upload their full ride on our Strava groups to compete. Strava segments are optional and even on timed climbs, on the two long courses (Gravel 90 and Paved 70). All riders must follow the rules of the road as they navigate the course with our well-marked event signs. See course details below for Strava details.
No licenses are required for any ride.

Mixed Surface Epic: 90 miles/6,800 feet (3 Rest Stops) Course Map New this year, the Mixed Surface Epic is the ultimate cycling adventure. Riders will travel through the rural hills of Livingston County exploring some of the most beautiful and challenge roads the in the Finger Lakes Region.
THIS RIDE IS HARD!! PLEASE BE ABLE TO COMPLETE IN 8 HOURS OR LESS IF YOU REGISTER!!
The course contains more than 50% dirt roads for low-traffic, off-the-beaten path ride that will take you to heights that can see as far as Rochester NY while exploring state forests and seasonal use roads known only to the farmers who live on them and the local gravel enthusiasts who ride them. Be on the lookout for the wild life, ripping and technical Big Hollow, a secret path down closed rail trial known only to locals as well as an unforgettable climb up Crossett Road.
With two timed climbs riders can test their meddle if they choose to join our Strava Group and submit their times. This is an optional competition. Riders who compete in Strava competition must complete the full course as marked and upload results by 7 p.m. to be scored. Registered riders will receive an email with Strava Group into join Hill Climb challenge.
Paved Long with Hill Climb Challenge: 70 miles/4,600 feet (3 Rest Stops) Course Map This new course offers some old favorites while keeping the whole ride on rural country pavement with low traffic. After shooting down the ridge into Dansville, riders can a winding climb up the famous Poag's hole that continues a sustained effort to the top of the one of the highest ridges in South Dansville.
After recovering for about 10 miles of thrilling descents, get ready to climb again as you tackle the legendary Vista Hill, a famed climbed that has been part of the Rock Fondo since it's beginning. Once you have slayed the dragon, the ride back to the party is filled with gorgeous views of Conesus Lake.
Mixed Surface Short: 45 miles/2,800 feet (1 Rest Stop) Course Map An amazing course for the gravel enthusiast or the gravel newbies. The ride features a ripping descent down Bennett Hill, a little rail trail and then some gravel climbing up to Stage Coach where you get the best view of Conesus Lake.
Paved Short: 45 miles/2,500 feet (1 Rest Stop) Course Map A roller coaster of rural pavement, this ride features killer view of Conesus Lake and one challenging climb. A great day in saddle for a rider of any ability who wants to get out with friends.
Lake Tour: 19 miles/500 feet (1 Rest Stop) Course Map GPX File Perfect for hybrids, mountain bikes or a mellow road ride, take a tour around Conesus Lake. Enjoy one special rest stop along they way TBA, as you check out the views on a summer at the lake.
